As the spectre of pandemic looms, forcing venues to close their doors, and gigs to be postponed indefinitely, it seems like a dark time for music fans.
Polyphonica and Vessel: Liverpool Studios want to alleviate some of that malaise, putting the social in social distancing, by bringing livestreams of your favourite Liverpool-based artists to your home for free.
The first of these streams was on Facebook Live in partnership with Skiddle, featuring the indomitable All We Are.
Depending on government advice as the crisis continues, Polyphonica and Vessel: Liverpool Studios will be putting on further free livestreams with Liverpool-based artists as the weeks go on.
The studio, crews and artists are donating their time, and social distancing is in effect to keep everyone safe, as we try to make the most of a bad situation and hopefully bring a little light to these dark times.
Based in Liverpool, but hailing from Norway, Ireland and Brazil, All We Are are signed to Double Six Records, a subsidiary of Domino, and are currently hard at work on their third album. Ahead of that, the band have shared two new singles, “Bad Advice” and “L Is For Lose” (the latter of which was A-listed on BBC 6music for 5 weeks) which showcase the technicolour world they’ve stepped into, one of undulating bass, decadent synths and expansive pop.
Based in Vessel, Polyphonica is a creative team that provide bespoke film, photography and design services for the music industry. They work with an eclectic mix of artists, labels, brands and businesses.
Vessel: Liverpool Studios has spent close to a decade hosting and producing commercials and photo shoots for international brands, and music videos for artists signed to Sony, Polydor, Decca, BMG, Epic Records and a myriad more – along with supporting the local music scene by offering affordable rates for emerging talent.
Vessel and Polyphonica are in talks with a number of labels and artists about upcoming livestreams to entertain in the midst of dark times – check back and keep an eye on our socials for the latest additions to the lineup.
